Vinolus – Coming Soon!

Vinolus is a boutique producer in Cappadocia in Central Anatolia, making unique wines from organically grown grapes. Annual production capacity is 10.000 bottles consisting of five different wines.

Vinolus has been growing grapes in approximately 45 hectares since 1985. 23 hectares are devoted to wine grapes, while the rest is for table grapes.  Vinolus vineyards hold the organic agriculture certificate since 2009.

White wine grapes:

  • Narince
  • Chardonnay
  • Roussanne

Red wine grapes:

  • Kalecik Karası
  • Shiraz
  • Tempranillo

Oluş Molu, Vinolus’s charming proprietor, and her family own a large farm outside Kayseri (ancient Eusebia/ Caesarea) in the Cappadocia region. Oluş, a biologist, took charge around the turn of this century, working with her brother, Aziz. Today she has about 50 acres (20 ha) planted in the native Kalecik Karasi and Narince.  She is one of the first Turks to experiment with Roussanne and Tempranillo.  The land is high, dry, rocky, and cold in the winter.  It has volcanic basalt subsoil, likely formed from eruptions by the high, nearby volcano Mount Erciyes. She has planted the vineyard traditionally with bush-trained vines because of the terroir.  Small production and great dedication, along with a fresh perspective is a good indicator for Vinolus’s future.
