G-Rouge 2011
67 % Cabernet Sauvignon
33%Petit Verdot
In 1993, Cabernet Sauvignon was the first international variety planted at Gulor’s estate vineyards in Tekirdag (Teh-kir-dah) which are sited on the north shore of the Marmara Sea. These mature estate Cabernet Sauvignon vines contribute red fruit, structure and finesse to the blend. Petit Verdot also thrives here and this late-ripening variety adds floral aromas, structure from high tannins and deep color to the blend with flavors of deep, blue fruit and exotic spice.
Tasting Notes: Deep core to medium ruby rim with developing aromas of red and blue berries, earth, leather and star anise. Generous medium plus tannins, youthful flavors and structure focused on the mid palate with tasty black cherry on a lengthy finish. Balanced and expressive with the potential to develop, though not intended for extensive aging.
Designation: Turkey
Sub region: Thrace, the northwestern-most corner of Turkey sharing borders with Greece and Bulgaria.
